I am taking part in the Townsville to Cairns Bike Ride to raise funds for Children's Cancer Institute.
Every week in Australia, 20 children are diagnosed with cancer and sadly, three young lives will be lost to the disease. Children's
Cancer Institute is the only independent medical research institute wholly dedicated to childhood cancer.
Together, we can help more children with cancer not only survive but go on to live long and healthy lives.

Bah Bye Bundaberg

Tuesday 2nd Jul
My time in Bundy has ended and I’m heading back up north!  Which means I’ll hopefully be joining my compatriots for a group ride in Townsville some day and also prepare for the TCBR!

It’s still unreal that today its only 3 weeks before the ride.

My cycle course is a bit limited where I am at the moment.  I am surrounded by farms and narrow country roads but there foot/bike path that I use for my training rides.

It is a 50km loop but I’m not complaining and view are breathtaking!

Training For TCBR

My preparations for the the Townsville to Cairns Bike Run started with ernest this past week.

I hate to admit I’ve haven’t done mi h serious cycling in two years because of either bad weather 🤓, work 🙆🏿‍♂️ or just plain 1million excuses 🤷‍♀️

But I’m back on the saddle and loving every minute of it.  Moving down to Bundaberg for three months probably helped with that commitment.

Today, I joined up with some members of the local cycling club, Coral Coast Cycling Club and did a 30km ride with a very high cadence (for me 🥵) ride.   The group had to break away to complete a 40km without me 🤦🏾

But the members were very welcoming.

So my preparations is slow but I hope that I’ll be fit and ready by July
