Every week nearly three Australian children and adolescents will die of cancer.

Children’s Cancer Institute exits solely to put a stop to this. They are developing new technologies to map the genome of treatment resistant children, and grow their cancer in the lab to test the best treatments to kill their cancer, so that children are receiving the best treatment for their individual cancer.

In 2018 I am urging everyone to donate via my fundraising page.... to sponsor me as I ride the 358km from Townsville to Cairns, to raise money and awareness for Children's Cancer research.

It costs $1000 per child to roll out this new technology... but any amount is appreciated, and every dollar makes a difference.

Don't forget to follow my blog on this page, and via Instagram @ 'sweetrosewine'.

My Updates

04 May 2018

Today I decided to bite the bullet and message people on my FB page to ask for donations... its really awkward asking people to donate money, and was much easier when I was 10 years old, door knocking for Jump Rope for Heart or 40-Hour Famine. I was surprised and grateful to the handful of colleagues and friends who generously donated without hesitation. I feel truly blessed to know such caring and kind people. Thank you Pete, Ed, Amy, Karina and Simon for you donations today xx

Where are all the sponsors? It seems that people turn a deaf ear (or blind eye) at ones pleading for a few bucks to add to the fundraising coffers. A big thanks to my bestie (Nad) and the gorgeous little pocket rocket, V, from Total Rush cycles for throwing some dollars my way... it is truly appreciated. I wouldn't have thought it would be so hard to raise money for such a great cause. Only 104 days until 2018 TCBR! I can't wait... dare I admit I have already started packing? (gulp)_...

This time last year I was thinking 'OMG what have I signed up for?!'. One year on and I am excited to be participating in the 20th anniversary of the Townsville to Cairns Bike Ride. At 44 years old I have just won my first ever sport medal (coming third in a local Victorian cycle), and look forward to joining the butterflies as we hit the road to raise money to treat children's cancer. It doesn't matter what age you are, a plant based vegan diet and a bike are the key to life-long health!
